The Healing Wisdom Center clinic is centrally located in the southern region of the Maple Leaf community, 3 miles north of the University of Washington and 2 miles south of the North Gate Mall. We are conveniently located 7 to 15 minutes from downtown Seattle, Queen Anne, Capitol Hill & Green Lake residents. For those using city transportation, the #74 bus will drop you off at 80th St NE and Lake City Way, 2 blocks from the clinic.

The Maple Leaf Professional building functions out of a beautifully landscaped home. It serves as offices to many alternative practitioners and psychotherapists. It is a striking 3 story cottage home, with a rock and shrub garden, marked at the front by a handicapped ramp entrance built. Healing Wisdom Center is just one of those offices in the large professional building. Locating the clinic the first time is a little tricky, so please follow the directions clearly laid out.

Healing Wisdom clinic is located on the East Side of Lake City Way. The front of the building is identified with a small business sign. The Maple Leaf Professional Center. Located at 7812 Lake City Way is not easily spotted, if you are driving by quickly. It’s a camouflaged two tone green building, surrounded by landscaped shrubs and trees.

From Downtown Seattle
Take I-5 to exit 171, (marked Lake City Way/Bothell Hwy). There is a long exit ramp and then a short tunnel you will pass through. Pay close attention here & put your right hand turn signal on upon entering the tunnel. As soon as you exit the tunnel, look for an extra lane or shoulder of the road that merges with Lake City Way. This extra road is where 12th Ave & Lake City Way merge and where our clinic is located. This 3rd lane of Lake City Way & 12th Ave is where parallel parking is available, just south of the Maple Leaf Professional Center. This is 7812 Lake City Way. First time patients are advised to wait in the main waiting room, which has wheel chair accessibility & a long ramp coming off of the front of the building.

From Downtown Seattle/Rush Hour Traffic Shortcut
When coming off of exit 171 ramp, take a sharp right on the first street. There’s a sign there for 73th St NE. Drive for 2 long blocks till the road T’s into the water reservoir. The first block is Roosevelt. The 2nd block ends on 12th street. You can only turn left here and you are heading north for 2 more blocks.
The first short block takes you to the light & 75th St. The Save way supermarket is located half a block on your left side. Pass the light & travel the 2nd long block through a residential area. Look for the next right hand turn, which is 77th St. Don’t go further on 12th st, as it blends in with Lake City Way & the busy, fast moving traffic.

Healing Wisdom Center & clinic is accessible by the back door of the Maple Leaf Professional Center. It is located on the ground floor, in front of the staff parking lot. Look for Suite 18, across from the bathroom & kitchen facilities.

The monthly health talks are located on the first floor, at the front of the building. Visitors may wait in the waiting room, located on the side of the building. A long handicapped entrance ramp and porch mark this main entrance to the building.


If You Get Lost & Don’t Know the Neighborhood
If you miss the extra shoulder lane created after coming out of the I-5 tunnel, you will have to make a complete loop back to 12th Ave & Lake City Way. You’ll basically be navigating a complete box square in the local neighborhood. You’ll come to the first light, which is 80th St. The local landmark is Glo cleaners, located on your left, on the SW corner of 80th & Lake City Way. Turn right on 80th St, then one short block, turn right onto 15th Ave. At this corner, there are the landmarks of the yellow cottage/ Happy Go Latte café & the Maple Leaf vet clinic. Turn right. Drive one long block. Turn right again onto 77th Ave NE. ( If you missed this residential street, you will end up at the intersection of 75thSt & 15th Ave NE. The landmark here is the Roosevelt Water reservoir on your left. ) Turn right on 77th Ave. & travel 2 blocks through a residential area, till you come to a T, where Lake City Way & 12 Ave merge. Parking is available on 77th St or on 12 th Ave, in front of the Maple Leaf Professional Bldg.

From the Shoreline, N Seattle & Greenwood
Landmarks around the clinic area are Glo Dry Cleaners, Safeway Supermarket, and the water reservoir. The clinic is on the east side of Lake City Way, centrally located between 75th and 80th St. NE. Take exit 172/ the 85th Street exit off of I-5. Continue south on the off ramp to 80th St. you’ll come to a T in the road. Turn left onto 80th St, heading East for one mile. You’ll pass 2 lights. At the third main intersection and light, you will be on the S W corner of Lake City Way & 80th St. Glo Dry Cleaners is your landmark, on your right. 15th Ave is one short block further east. From this main intersection, you are literally one block from the clinic, but cannot get to it by turning onto the East Side of Lake City Way. There is median cement block separating Lake City Way. To get to the East Side of Lake City Way, you must drive a U loop, to get to the other side of this main highway.

The U Box Detour to get to the opposite side of Lake City Way:
Turn right heading south onto Lake City Way for 200 yards. It is important to keep to the right, as Lake City Way splits into 2 roads. You want to take the right fork of the road, identified as Roosevelt Way. The left main road of Lake City Way becomes the south entrance ramp of I-5. Take Roosevelt Way for one long block to 75th St. NE. This is a main intersection. On your left is the Safeway supermarket. Turn left here for 3 short blocks. You will pass Safeway on your right. Go through 2 lights. At the 2nd light, which are 12th Ave, turn LEFT, and drive for one block. The SW corner of the Roosevelt water reservoir is the landmark there. Drive one block north. 12th Ave NE will take you to 77th St & Lake City Way. Find parking in that immediate area.

AMPLE PARKING
There is plenty of parking around the 3 story professional building. A dozen designated parallel parking spaces are available, just south of the Maple Leaf Professional Center. There is also street parking in the residential community on 77th St., on both sides of the street. Please note that parking behind the building is reserved for the various therapists, who have their offices in Maple Leaf Professional Center.

If you get lost, call Kris Shaw on her cell phone at 206-370-2600. If she is in a treatment, there are no guarantees she will answer the phone. Calling 2-3 times in a row will let Kris know you are trying to get through and it is an emergency.
